Finishing - Phil Stevenson

Phil Stevenson
President of the American Wood Finishing Institute
 
Mr. Stevenson has been active in the wood finishing industry since 1980.  In his career he has owned finishing operations which offered high-tech specialty finishes for the industry.  Mr. Stevenson has also worked for a major manufacturer with the responsibilities of process training and new product development.  In recent years Stevenson's focus has been on training in a large range of coatings technologies as well as evaluation and research and development of cutting–edge technologies.
 
In 2000 Stevenson founded the American Wood Finishing Institute.   Throughout his 21+ years in the wood coatings industry, he has recognized the need and value of education.  He has a passionate mission of sharing finishing knowledge through out the finishing industry.
 
Mr. Stevenson is the lead finishing process instructor at the AWFI facilities in Vineland, NJ, as well as handling corporate training programs throughout the United States. Additionally, he is also a busy consultant on all aspects of wood finishing and process development, working with leading wood manufacturers in the United States and abroad.
